The Bank Windhoek and Republikein Motor Show officially opened at the popular Namibia Tourism Expo at the Windhoek Show Grounds on Wednesday this week.
Prospective car owners have the opportunity to become the proud owners of a new vehicle at the auto show. This year, visitors can look forward to the more than 30 top brands to be exhibited as well as a show case of vehicle accessories, trailers, camping equipment, motorbikes and quad bikes.
Brands to be exhibited include Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, C.A.M, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Citroen, Dodge, Ford, Fiat, Geely, Isuzu, Iveco, Jaguar, Jeep, KIA, Land Rover and Range Rover, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Opel, Peugeot, Renault, Suzuki, TATA, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.
A must-see at the show is the all new Ford Ranger which is more powerful than the previous models. This extra power is delivered by a new line up of advanced Duratorq diesel engines which can help one transport a load of up to 1,350 kg and tow up to 3,350 kg. This new range also offers an improved fuel consumption with its 6 speed manual transmissions which is designed to provide smooth but quick shifts. The bakkie’s tough exterior makes it a breeze to pass through any conditions from rocks to mud.
Bank Windhoek is offering two special financing options during the motor show. These are a repayment period of 72 months for a loan amount of more than N$100,000 and normal interest rates are applicable. The other option is a 3-month repayment holiday where the client can choose either to start paying in the fourth month after receiving the vehicle or choose any three months within the first three years of finance, normal interest rates are applicable here as well.
Many car dealers said they experienced a slight drop in car sales in April as reflected in the IJG Business Climate Index which fell 2.8 basis points from the revised March figure.
Entrance fees to the Namibia Tourism Expo and the Bank Windhoek/ Republikein Motor Show are N$40 for adults, N$20 for children under 12 while children under 6 as well pensioners get free entrance. The gates are open from 10h00 to 21h00 on Friday and from 10h00 to 16h00 on Saturday.
