Another title at hand for The Hitman
By Imelda Mokhatu

The 10 round main bout for the International Boxing Bonanza at Ongwediva this weekend will be featuring Namibia's own hotshot boxer and current World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan African Lightweight champion, Paulus 'The Hitman' Moses.
He exchanges blows with French boxer Frederick Gosset at the Trade Fair Centre. The Hitman, who is known for preferring to fight for only six rounds, said he is well prepared and ready for the fight. The Hitman said, “The opponent's records are nothing, as long as he is in the lightweight category. This is business; there is no time for joking.” He said opponents’ records are nothing and as long as the boxer is in the lightweight category that is all that matters.

World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan African Lightweight champion, Paulus 'The Hitman' Moses, who is exchanging blows with Frenchman Frederick Gosset in Ongwediva over the weekend.

Moses started boxing in 2000 and turned professional in 2002 after winning the National Championship in Walvis Bay. So far Moses has won gold at all the competitions he has entered, both national, regional (Southern African) and international. After turning professional, his first fight was in November 2002 at the Windhoek Country Club where he fought South Africa’s Aron Villa. He said being a boxer requires respect for other people and self-discipline. He said that he believes that if one does not respect people one will not be able to make it in life. Another issue he highlighted was that boxers should not drink, and if they do they should drink to a limit. The boxing bonanza is hosted by the Nestor 'Sunshine' Tobias Boxing Academy.

Telecom Namibia sponsored the event with N$150,000 - a sponsorship that was handed over on 25 October. The other fights on the cards for the evening are four and six round bouts that will feature Namibians against South African boxers: Jason Naule versus Peter Adams; Daniel 'Open Fire' Kashela versus Andries Phetla; Siegfried Kaperu versus Tendani Munayi; Vikapita Meroro versus Oupa Malangu; Junias Amunyela versus Sifiso Msibi; Tommy Hango versus Bhekhimpilo; Jatoorora Tjingaveta versus Joseph Katenda; Tommy Nakashimba versus Matheus Niitembu; and Joseph Benhard versus Simon Negodhi.
