RA takes over vehicle testing

The Roads Authority will take over all the functions of the Namibia Traffic Information System (NaTIS) as from Friday 10 November. The functions include motor vehicle examination, testing of learners and driving licences. These functions are currently being executed by the Namibian Police officers at all NaTIS offices countrywide.
Spokesperson for the RA, Audrin Mathe says the organisation will only assume the functions in Windhoek on a pilot study.

The RA will also unveil the uniforms of its staff members today. The uniforms are for the examiners and frontline staff at NaTIS Valley in Windhoek. If successful with the pilot phase, the RA will take over all NaTIS offices countrywide, including those at regional council offices. The unveiling of the uniforms and the taking over of the functions will be graced by the chief executive officer of RA, Erastus Ikela and the deputy inspector general of Police, Major General JB Tjivikua.
