Namibia’s finest, the ladies that will set the stage alight for two nights of unforgettable top notch entertainment at the NTN Backstage Theatre at NTN’s Feminine Fiesta titled ‘A Sistah Thang’.

To celebrate the essence of womanhood and women’s month which falls in August, the National Theatre of Namibia in collaboration with some of the country’s finest female vocalists are hosting a special concert, ‘A Sista Thang’, this Friday and Saturday. According to a Enid Johr, the NTN PRO, the main objective of ‘A Sistah Thang’ is to “recognise and celebrate womanhood through the diversity of our artistic expressions, music, dance, poetry and story telling.”
The National Theatre launched A Sista Thang in 2007, in support of the Annual Namibian Women Summit. It was held under the theme ‘Divas Night Out’ last year. The loaded music programme brought together some of Namibia’s finest divas to share the stage with guest artist Prudence Katomene from Zimbabwe.
In support of the Annual Namibian Women Summit this year, the NTN and this year’s divas will set the stage alight with some of their own compositions as well as timeless classicss honouring  international music greats such as Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Roberta Flack, Miriam Makeba, and Brenda Fassie.
Among the singers are Erna Chimu, Adora, Ma//gaisa artist Lettie Nangolo, Sally, Avo, Johne’, Esme’, Blossom, and new artist on the block, Shivonne. The programme is set over three nights, with the opening night reserved for delegates of the summit and the remaining public events on 10 and 11 August.
Backed by the popular Heritage Band, the show promises to be power-packed leaving the audience with unforgettable evenings of top notch performances by the artists. So whether you want a ladies night out with your girlfriends, the boys, or a family outing with your husband and kids, get out and go to A Sistah Thang. Get rid of the winter woes and join Namibia’s female artists at their best in song and celebration at the NTN on Friday and Saturday evening.
The venue is the NTN Backstage Theatre. The show starts at 19:00 for 20:00. Entrance is N$60. Tickets are available at the NTN box office as well as at the door of the NTN Backstage Theatre.
