The fish does not only belong to the surf anglers, ski-boat enthusiasts, although rare in Namibia, can look forward to a significant boost to their sport this coming holiday. Pupkewitz Honda Marine recently agreed to sponsor two ski-boat angling competition with the main prizes.
The Pupkewitz Group, through its Honda Marine Dealership continues to promote sport, demonstrating the group’s corporate social responsibility while setting an example to other businesses in the private sector.
The company recently donated two Honda Honwave inflated boats with a 2hp and 5hp engine respectively to the Penguin Angling Club for the hosting of the competition agreed by both parties to be called the Pupkewitz Marine Honda Ski-Boat Angling Tournament in Swakopmund, slated for the day after New Year’s.
The Managing Director of Pupkewitz Motors, Junior Bruwer, and Philip van der Merwe, dealer principal of Pupkewitz Honda Marine, presented the items valued at an amount of N$ 50,000 to Chris Offer of the Penguin Angling Club.
While the sponsorship is to assist the Penguin Angling Club in their drive for the promotion of ski-boat angling, van der Merwe urged the private sector to follow the example of assisting the community. This involvement as demonstrated by Pupkewitz Honda Marine ensures that they remain at the forefront of their business.
“We want to give back to the community that supports us and has supported us over the years”,  he said.
Chris Offer of the Penguin Angling Club was grateful and acknowledge the value of the Pupkewitz Honda Marine sponsorship and contribution to the promotion of ski-boat angling.
“We are grateful for the sponsorship and thank the sponsor who have so willingly contributed to the hosting of the tournament. This sponsorship and tournament serve as a means for our club to give back to the public”, Offer said.
