National heritage captured  by dedicated artists over many decades

Former president, Dr Sam Nujoma visited the National Art Gallery of Namibia on Thursday for a guided tour of the ongoing exhibition which officially opened its doors on 27 March. Nujoma was taken on a step by step tour to see collections of the Annual Exhibition Museum which first started last year with images dating from as far as the year 1940 by local and regional artists. The museum programme aims to curate and exhibit a selection of art works from collections housed in the National Art Gallery of Namibia (NAGN) and offers an exciting education programme to benefit tertiary institutions, schools, researchers, artists, tourists and the general public. This programme will enhance the museum’s exhibition projects and support the importance of the visual arts in Namibia’s growth and development. The exhibition will end on 31 August.
