German official hold talks with political leaders

A German government official visited the country this week to hold talks with different political party leaders and traditional authorities.
Ambassador Walter Johannes Lindner, director general for African Affairs in the Federal Foreign Office, arrived in Namibia on Wednesday and visited Windhoek and Okakarara during his three-day stay in the country.
In Windhoek he had the opportunity to hold political talks at the highest level and met representatives of various political parties, civil society and traditional authorities.
Among the political leaders were Prime Minister Nahas Angula, Utoni Nujoma, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kazenambo Kazenambo, Minister of Youth, National Service, Sport and Culture, Dr. Peter Katjavivi, SWAPO Chief Whip, Hidipo Hamutenya president of the RDP as well as the Members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs.
On Thursday, Ambassador Lindner visited a project under the auspices of the Namibian-German Special Initiative Programme, together with a representative of the National Planing Commission.
The visit by Ambassador Lindner is his first visit in his capacity as director general for African Affairs and provided an opportunity to discuss all aspects of the broad and remarkably intense relations between both countries.
