iWay warns of phishing PDF Print

A bogus phishing e-mail is currently been send to some of our customers stating that iWAY will close the recipient’s account if he/she does not respond to that specific e-mail revealing e-mail address, password and date of birth of the iWAY customer.
These e-mails are NOT originating from iWAY and should be immediately DELETED from your system.

In computing, phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.
Please note. iWAY will never ask for the users to confirm or reveal their password via an e-mail like this. iWAY does not need to know your password at all. The user’s password is not needed by iWAY for customer account verification. The password is only there for the customer to be identified by our Servers. Thus no person at iWAY must or should have a reason to know our customer’s password.
iWAY have also taken immediate steps to stop the spreading of this specific e-mail via our Servers.
