Kahijoro Kahuure, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, and Desmond van Jaarsveld, NBL Managing Director, after the breweries handed over the renovated hospital wards.
The company has invested a total of N$130 000 in renovating and adopting some wards at the hospitals.
Beneficiaries of this kind gesture are Ward 8 that caters for children with cancer at Windhoek Central, the occupational therapy ward at Katutura Hospital and Ward 10 at Oshakati Hospital’s paediatric unit.
The company said it has been driven by the ministry’s public appeal for assistance for infrastructural improvements in state hospitals. NBL said it had selected the occupational therapy section on the basis of the large number of patients in need of rehabilitation.
The company’s employees actively participated in the projects by availing their skills. The NBL engineering department oversaw all the projects while other employees contributed through voluntary work and further helped to raise funds for school for children with cancer at Windhoek Central.
