Swabou Insurance, which is part of FNB Namibia Holdings,
said this week that only three workers out of 14 have opted for voluntary
retirement.
Following a decision by its board to ensure the long-term
sustainability of its short-term insurance business by entering into an
agreement with OUTsurance, FNB Namibia Holdings started repositioning the
company, which led to 17 vacancies becoming redundant.
Group CEO Adv. Vekuii Rukoro said this week that 14 of the
affected staff have been offered and accepted redeployment opportunities within
the FNB Group of Companies. The remaining three staff members applied for
voluntary redundancy packages.
“We are all happy that we could limit the redundancies and
that we managed to find alternative opportunities in the broader FNB family,”
Adv. Rukoro said.
