The company said this week that Iuel will lead Cell One into
the next phase of its rollout plan and towards realising the company’s goal to
become the leading player in the mobile industry and Information Communication
Technology (ICT) sector in Namibia.
Iuel has 12 years management experience and a wide range of
valuable knowledge in the industry. Prior to accepting the position, Iuel
served as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and has been a key member
of the Executive Management Team.
Mac Allman, the outgoing CEO, has successfully managed the
start-up operations of the company and the recent launch of its service in
Windhoek.
“When I was nominated by Telecom Management Partner (TMP)
last year and subsequently appointed by the Board of Directors on 14 September
2006, it was always with the understanding that my appointment would end with
the launch of Cell One,”, said Allman in a statement.
“The appointment of Lars-Christian Iuel will ensure that
Cell One maintains the necessary continuity in order to bring communications to
all Namibians”, Allman added.
In terms of the management agreement between TMP and Cell
One, TMP has the mandate to nominate certain key management positions.
