A group of 25 police officers have graduated from a training course aimed at honing their accident investigative skills.

Chief inspectors Isai Hainghumbi and B. Oberholzer, who were the training officers.

“Lack of accident investigation skills has incapacitated the Namibian Police to properly investigate crime including traffic law violation and this training could not come at a better time,” said Sebastian Ndeitunga, Inspector General of the Namibian Police.
The training was co-funded by the MVA Fund and the Namibian Police.
“In an effort to avoid prosecution many drivers resort to shifting blame to other factors such as tyre bursts, wild animals or mechanical failure, thus depriving many accident victims of much needed compensation or medical undertakings,” said Phillip Amunyela, Chairman of the MVA Fund.
The police officers graduated last week at the Patrick Iyambo Police College in Windhoek.
