Manica adopts 10 learners at Goreangab Junior School PDF Print

The Goreangab Junior Secondary School, one of the country’s pioneering educational centres, recently took a bold step by launching the HELP-A-CHILD Project, which was initiated to enable businesses and institutions in the corporate fraternity to “adopt” a child (or children) with school fees sponsorship.

The school is located in central Katutura with a learner population of 700 pupils, the majority of whom are from poverty stricken communities from the surrounding north-western suburbs of Windhoek.
The recent registration process for the 2008 academic year proved, once again as in the past history of the school’s existence, that the majority of the parents cannot afford the School Development Fund fees in order to enrol their children.
Last week, the Manica Group of Companies adopted 10 learners at N$500 each for the duration of their tenure at the school.
