African Stars will face Civics in the MTC Namibia Football Association (NFA) Cup finals to be played on 28 June at the Independence Stadium. The final kicks off at 15h00 and both teams say they are well prepared to leave the soccer pitch in glory.
He said the players will play well to retain the title and can expect a win, but the game will not be easy. African Stars will be playing a good side that has won the title a few times. It has players, who have been together for some time. Rwasoka said the team won the title last year in a match against Orlando Pirates through penalties, and his message to the players is to work hard and play with a winning mentality. He said Civics is a good team with about 90% of its players in the national team. But African Stars knows the team they will be facing. It will play its best game. The only problem facing the team is with its goalkeeper who has an injury. Ricardo Manneti, the Civics Coach, said the team experienced a tough season, but managed to get things sorted out and made it to the finals of the MTC NFA Cup finals. He said the team is well-prepared even though it had a tough road to get to the finals. Manneti said the team has no lack of manpower, as there are no injured players. He said his coaching mentality is instilling the players with a winning mentality and taking that to the pitch. Manneti said Civics is going onto the pitch, as the underdogs, as the team has not made it this far in the past three years. But he still expects a win. As a coach, Manneti believes in the players, who gave him the needed respect ever since he took over the reigns. His message to the players is to show the nation that Civics’ players are brilliant. The team believes in winning and getting good results, he said. Helmuth Scharnowski, Civics’ Director and owner, said the team is used to winning and the players’ morale is high. |
