Forsys Metals Corporation said this week that the government has approved and cleared both its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for the Valencia Uranium Project.

The company said that environmental clearance is a critical step towards the company being granted a mining license for the project by the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
The Valencia Uranium Deposit, the company’s flagship project, is 100% owned and is one of only a handful of new uranium projects around the globe that are scheduled for production in 2010.
The company holds five additional uranium licenses in Namibia, solidifying a pipeline of uranium projects far into the future. Exploration on these uranium projects, which are nearer to Valencia, has uncovered high-grade uranium mineralization that appears to be very promising. Additional exploration on these, as well as other areas, is ongoing.
