Dear Sir
Herewith I would like to the attention of the general public a shocking breach of contract by PathCare. I received my account from PathCare on 29 May. Included in the envelope was an account for Ms X. I duly phoned a department at PathCare who deals with this particular medical aid fund’s accounts. (I thought
I would do a good deed for the day).
After explaining the situation to the lady, I was told they do not fold the accounts and the stuff the envelopes themselves- the pack of accounts are sent to the post Office who then fold accounts, place it in the envelopes and then respective mail boxes. I have no idea who Ms X is. However, I do know who her doctor is, what her postal address is and she among other tests was tested for HIV PCR.
This effectively means that a third party is privy to the laboratory tests that are done on patients!
This is a shocking and an atrocious breach of contract by PathCare.
It is only appropriate that they explain this situation to the Namibian public, the medical fraternity of Namibia as well as the medical aids (in this particular case NMC and Prosperity) of Namibia... or are they aware of this situation?
