The fact that one is handicapped does not mean that one cannot participate in the broader economy. A coffee shop recently opened at the Old Breweries Complex is a clear indication of this. What makes Uncle Paul’s Brassiere/Coffee Shop different is that mostly physically impaired people are employed there.

The coffee shop is named after the late Paul Hester who being blind, passionately advocated for the rights of disabled people.
Trustco donated more than N$12 000 towards the staff’s clothing as well as special shoes needed by some of the waiters and waitresses working in the Coffee Shop.
Here Phillip Karamata, Petrus Samuel, Sem Petrus and Hilma Indongo welcome patrons to Paul’s Coffee Shop, which serves sumptuous breakfasts and lunches.
The menu is delectable and offers a wide variety of delicious juice blends served nowhere else in the city. All dishes are made using low fat or non-dairy products; low cholesterol oils and the best vegetarian products money can buy. The coffee shop also has a liquor license and is open Monday to Fridays from 08h00 to17h00 and on Saturdays from 08h00 to 14h00. For reservations, call Tel: 307176.
