Advertising agency DV8 Saatchi & Saatchi walked off with seven awards at the 3rd International Advertising Festival held in Maputo from 25 to 29 May. This development highlights some of the many benefits of working for an advertising company.
DV8 won a Gold Award for its own piece titled ‘Vacancy’. In addition to
this, it won two Silver Awards for Namibia Breweries’ ‘Too much’ and
‘Too young’ responsible consumption radio campaigns; a Silver and two
Bronze Awards for various FNB campaigns and another Silver Award for
the ‘Study Circles’ poster that was designed for the Namibia Institute
for Democracy (NID).
In addition to this, Mark Bongers of DV8 was invited to participate as a judge on the international jury, consisting of 10 advertising practitioners from France, Mozambique, Brazil, Angola, South Africa, Portugal and Namibia. “I was very impressed to see how the quality of our work compared favourably amongst the vast range of international entries. Although there were obviously some language barriers amongst the international panel, the fact that we won seven awards from the 10 pieces we entered clearly illustrates that great ideas speak to all languages and cultures,” says Bongers. |
