3 concessions to merge PDF Print

Plans to bring together the Hobatere, Palmwag and Etendeka concessions are close to becoming a reality.  The Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET) plans to merge the three concessions, in a move that will ultimately create a continuous corridor between the Etosha National Park and the Skeleton Coast National Park.
The move also aims to provide for the long-term free movement for wild animals in both parks. There are two reasons behind the initiative. The ministry says it aims at ensuring that all types of landscape are well represented like the mountainous areas in the Kunene Region.
It says the Palmwag Concession holds very important animal species like the black rhino, which should also be viewed from the other concessions.
A delegate from the ministry is scheduled to meet with the Palmwag Concession Committee next week and would report on progress made so far.
