Bank Windhoek has launched a new range of banking options specifically aimed at the agriculture sector. The bank unveiled the products last week in Windhoek at a function that also witnessed the launch of a competition for farmers.
The new products include AgriSave, AgriCheque and AgriSelekt. The
competition running alongside will see the lucky winners walking away
with big prizes towards the end of the year.
Speaking to journalists during a breakfast meeting, Bank Windhoek’s Managing Director, James Hill said the products are specifically tailored to meet the financial needs of the modern farming professional, irrespective of the size, nature or type of agricultural activity. He added that by creating such a product line, it was part of the bank’s belief in the productivity of the agricultural sector and that it contributes immensely to the growth of the economy. He also mentioned that the bank was proud to be associated with the farming sector in Namibia and has come a long way since its establishment more than 26 years ago. “Bank Windhoek is committed to promote and enhance agriculture in the country through various smart partnerships and the establishment of a new range of banking products, tailored to meet the needs of today’s modern farmer, whether they are a professional farmer of a professional with a farming interest,” Hill said. In addition to the launch of the three products, Bank Windhoek has said anyone who applies and opens an AgriSave, AgriCheque or AgriSelekt account between 22 May and 30 September 2008, will be automatically entered into a draw to win a 2008 Toyota Hilux, 2.5-diesel 4x4 SRX bakkie with accessories. Hill pointed out that six finalists would be drawn from the entries and on 10 October this year, the final draw for the bakkie would be held. “There are as many types of farming as there are challenges to farming. Understanding this fact, and being able to meet the needs of the farming community, is just one of the advantages of being a truly Namibian bank,” noted Hill. He added that over the past few years, Bank Windhoek has delivered on its promise to provide easy, accessible and affordable banking to all Namibians with the launch of an extensive range of new products. “Bank Windhoek’s AgriSave, AgriCheque and AgriSelekt products put the farmer in full control of his or her business finance, proving once again how ‘together we do better’,” he said. |
