Decorators and homemakers need go no
further than the Namibia Craft Centre for inspiration on how to
decorate their homes. ‘Namibian Interiors’ is an
exhibition that opened on Tuesday 15 April at 19h00 featuring three
different interiors using exclusively Namibian home accessories, put
together by Ikhoba, Pambili and Mud Hut Trading.

The exhibition is at the Bank Windhoek
Omba Gallery and features Namibian designed and made décor
items.
Ikhoba, well known for its colourful
embroidered textiles produced by women in and around Otjiwarongo,
will decorate the interior using a children’s room as a theme.
Specially commissioned patchwork quilts and colourful embroideries
will add a touch of fun to its space in the Bank Windhoek Omba
Gallery.
Pambili is using karakul hand-felted
carpets, wall hangings and a new felted furniture range made in
Dordabis to accessorize a living-room interior in natural Namibian
tones.
Mud Hut Trading is launching new
textiles with motifs from San artists living in Ohangwena to decorate
a dining interior. These textiles received much acclaim at the recent
Design Indaba held in Cape Town in February earlier this year.
The exhibition closes on the 5 May
2008.
