Canned fish for flood victims |

The Namsov Community Trust and Namsov
Fishing Enterprises this week donated Namibian canned fish valued at
over N$1 million to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to help
ease the situation created by the recent floods in the north.

Angelina Sinvula, a Namsov Community
Trustee who handed over the donation to the Deputy PM Dr Libertine
Amathila, said, “Namsov is thankful that we are in a position to
assist the needy people with basic needs.”
“We trust that the donation will help
the Government and more specifically the people in dire need to
overcome the many problems that this crisis brought along,” she
added.
Namsov Fishing Enterprises, a Bidvest
Namibia company, is the single biggest quota holder engaged in
Horse-mackerel fishing. The Namsov Community Trust is a shareholder
in Namsov Fishing and, through dividends paid to shareholders, it has
been assisting and supporting various communities all over Namibia to
empower themselves and as in this case, to assist communities and
citizens in emergencies.
The 14-year-old Trust has so far
expended through donations and sponsorships in excess of N$21 million
to various projects in the country.
