Pohamba takes stock of dairy’s achievements |

President Hifikepunye Pohamba,
on Thursday 3 April, visited Namibia Dairies (Pty) Ltd to take stock
of the progress made by the dairy company in its plans to transform
into a competitive milk processor in its chosen markets in
sub-Saharan Africa.

Namibia Dairies gave account of
the success achieved during the years 2005 to 2007 saying that
initiatives such as the ISO 9001:2000 certification, SAP system
implementation, restructure of the national depot infrastructure,
improvement of the product portfolio, and introduction of sales
excellence programmes had contributed to transform the business
thereby securing 580 jobs.
An ISO 9001:2000 certified
company; Namibia Dairies complies with stringent internationally
recognised quality management systems. The company employs 580
employees and operates through a structure encompassing six depots
namely in Windhoek, Keetmanshoop, Swakopmund, Otjiwarongo, Oshakati
and Ondangwa. In addition, Namibia Dairies owns a company operating
in Lubango (Angola) registered as Freshuila Limitada.
