The Namibia National cricket team is participating in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Intercontinental Cup and has performed well. Namibia is in joint-second level with the Netherlands, after its thrilling 40-run victory over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Sharjah Stadium on Saturday.

Their next four-day match will be against the Netherlands and is scheduled to begin on 3 April.
According to media reports from the Netherlands, that country will be represented by a very strong team. One can understand why the Netherlands is not willing to take any chances, since the Namibian team became part of the ICC's High Performance Programme in 2007 and has participated in all editions of the Intercontinental Cup.
The Namibian boys will be playing against Bermuda, Ireland, Kenya, the Netherlands, Scotland and the UAE.
According to the ICC, a top four finish in this tournament will qualify Namibia for the 2009 ICC World Cup Qualifier, whilst finishing in fifth or sixth place will mean that the country will play in Division Three of the World Cricket League in 2009.
The Namibian team, as a means of preparing, participated in the second tier of the South African domestic cricket tournament between October 2007 and February this year.
