Telecom Namibia has launched a new product called MetroNet. Managing Director Frans Ndoroma said the MetroNET suite consists of three tiers of products, providing for point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, as well as multipoint-to-multipoint connectivity at dedicated and granular speeds of up to 100 Mbps.

Speed upgrades are available in incremental steps of 5 Mbps or 10 Mbps and even ultra high speeds of 100 Mbps.
Ndoroma said MetroNET offers bandwidth that is designed to meet customer's needs and allows for flexible upgrades.
It gives a variety of businesses, from financial and commercial, mining and quarrying, transport and communications, retail and wholesale, manufacturing and government services, the opportunity to embrace Metro Ethernet to better utilise one pipe for multiple services,” said Ndoroma.
The services will initially available in Windhoek.
“The intention here is to introduce this new MetroNET suite of services gradually, planning the expansion based on the growth and demands of the market countrywide on a metropolitan basis,” he said.
