The
long-awaited and planned merger between Internet Technologies Namibia (ITN) and
Pinnacle Networks was finally completed during February 2008. Tim Priebe, who was a major
shareholder in Pinnacle networks, is now a Senior Executive inside Internet
Technologies Group.

Said CEO
of ITN Barney Harmse; “Tim brings a wealth of practical and specialised
experience to ITN. For this reason he will work closely with ITN’s already
extensive technical resources”
“With
the completion of this merger, we once aging accumulated more technical wealth
of knowledge in Satellite-, Radio- Switching- and Routing technologies,” Harmse
said.
ITN claims
that it has the most resources in the above technology offerings compared to
any other Private Namibian Operator.
Said
Harmse: “The fact that we are the largest Private Namibian Operator is
secondary. Primary is the fact that we are the best in our service delivery and
will continue to set the market standards. For this reason we have positioned
ourselves strategically in the market place as far as service delivery is
concerned.”
One
always finds that bad news spreads much faster than good news, especially where
customers are quick to inform their Service Provider or friends, of poor or
non-existent service.
“ITN on
the other hand receives compliments on a regular basis, either by word of mouth
or more typically via e-mail, congratulating members of ITN on good or
excellent service,” said Harmse.
It is
extremely rare for corporate customers to actually take the time to go through
the trouble of complimenting. This proves that ITN is performing and
maintaining a higher standard as far as service delivery is concerned.
ITN’s
culture is one of Service First, new potential business later, which is
actually not conducive to profitability.
Said
Harmse: “To continue improving our service delivery to the Namibian market, it
was therefore critical that we obtained the vast wealth of specialised
knowledge Tim could offer.
“With this step we have now
increased the advantage through which our sales and admin teams actually have
an even bigger and more organised technical squad to back them - and ITN in
general.”
