Agra has organised a one day public lecture
on practical farming scheduled for 13
March in Keetmanshoop. According to Agra's
Communications Officer, Alida Coertzen, this will be the first of a series of
one day public lectures, a concept that is being developed to benefit a wider
community in all regions and is based on the pass successes of Agra and the
Cheetah Conservation Fund workshops.
She said the Voermeester will also be
part of the lecture team and the topics to be covered are supplementation of
cattle, an insight into livestock auctions in Namibia, integrating farming and
problem animals; basic animal health practices and the use of the Farm First
Aid Kit.
Coertzen says there will be practical
demonstrations and lots of visual material as part of the programme, and the
registration fee is N$50 that will include the lectures and a light lunch.
She said Agra invites all
farmers who are interested in learning more about the practical principles of
farming to attend the public lecture and interested farmers can contact the
Agra branches in Windhoek and Keetmanshoop.
