Windhoek residents took to the streets to participate in the Walk
for Wheels charity event. The event aimed at assisting in raising funds to buy wheelchairs
to those in need but who cannot afford them, said Retha Strydom, Namibia
Medical Care (NMC)'s Fund Administrative Officer.
She said one of the highlights of the event was Jan Mohr’s first
rugby team that was responsible for pushing the participants in wheelchairs.
The event was organised by NMC and Methealth. It was a five-kilometre
walk event.
Last week Alna Louw, Methealth's Wellness Coordinator, said by
participating, the public showed its support for people in need of wheelchairs.
The organisers also considered medical services and thus arranged
with E-Med Rescue to provide emergency medical services if required.

the finishing line, Terence Bock who was pushed by a Jan Mohr’s first team
rugby player.
