Forsys Metals Corp said this week that it has received
permits from the Department of Water Affairs for the abstraction of ground
water for the Valencia Uranium Mine. The permits allow the company
to abstract up to 1000 cubic metres of water per day, a sufficient quantity to
continue with the development of Valencia.
The company is also continuing to work with the Namibia
Water Corporation Limited, the bulk water supplier, in refining the terms and
conditions for a long-term supply of desalinated water to Valencia.
Duane Parnham, Valencia President and CEO commented: “The
water permits represent an important step in bringing Valencia into production
within our scheduled timeframe. We appreciate the ongoing support of the
project from the government of Namibia.”
Forsys Metals Corp is focusing
on creating shareholder value by developing uranium assets in Namibia. The
Valencia uranium deposit is 100% owned and is one of only a handful of new
uranium projects around the globe that is scheduled for production in late
2009.
