Namibia’s premium reference source of information on who is who in the country, the Who’s Who of Namibia 2008, was launched in Windhoek recently. Speaking at the launch, Riaan Potgieter, co-owner and CEO of the Prowealth Group of Companies, said that the publication fulfils an important niche in the country. “People do business with people, not with companies and that’s why this publication provides such an important service to Namibian companies – showing the faces behind the companies.”

The Who’s who team: Heike Lorck, who was responsible for the design of the publication, Thea Visser, founder and executive director, Riaan Potgieter, co-owner and CEO of Prowealth Group of Companies, and Pieter Lingenfelder, MD of Proweath and Financial Manager of the publication.

This high-quality annual publication, now in its fourth year, has grown by leaps and bounds and is now firmly established as Namibia’s central source of updated information.
The Who’s Who of Namibia focuses especially on individuals – the faces behind companies, the Namibian Government, parastatals/state-owned enterprises, organisations, and various other business and leisure-related associations.
The main reason behind the publication is to make it easier for people to identify and connect with the right person, without having to deal with faceless switchboards or unfriendly mail servers that may take ages to forward an email to the right person – if ever.
Potgieter also said at the launch that although the annual publication is still the flagship of the Who’s Who of Namibia, 2008 will see several exciting extensions of the Who’s Who brand.  One such extension is taking the concept to other Southern African countries, of which Zambia will be the first.
“It will indeed be a proud day to see a truly Namibian concept and product been exported to other African countries.”
