| Tony Boucher, General Manager of
the Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino, said the hotel is currently
undergoing a complete facelift and promises to sparkle in a completely new
light once the renovations are completed by 31 July 2008. Some room renovations
have been completed as shown in the picture with a model enjoying the new
sparkle and comfort. Boucher said the casino’s new carpets and some new
machines were fitted in at end of last year. He said, “The rooms have become
outdated and are in need of a refurbishment. When the project is finalised, the
rooms will have a modern look in keeping with the wide open spaces and peaceful
serenity that Namibia has become known for, while maintaining all the
facilities an international traveller or businessman would expect from a
four-star deluxe hotel. The benefits to the guests are manifold, not only in
terms of comfort, but also technological efficiency and appeal to international
as well as business travellers.” Boucher said the old furnishings that are
being discarded. Some will be donated to deserving charities while the hotel
staff will also get a chance to purchase some items at very affordable prices. |
