During
his years in Namibia, Garoeb did well in competitions and won awards such
awards as follows: Gold Medal as Junior Chef of Namibia (2000), Silver Medal as
Senior Chef of Namibia (2000), and Bronze Medal as Peach Tree Hotels (2003).
Tom
Mutavdzic, the Director of the Nest Hotel, said Garoeb is back to lift the Food
and Beverage department to higher standards with his wealth of experience.
He
said the hotel's management recognizes the importance of training and the
continuing upliftment of standards and the staff and management is committed to
Service Excellence. Mutavdzic said Garoeb has worked for a short time and made
a huge impact at the hotel in 2005, and the management is glad to have him
back.
He
said Garoeb is experienced in different aspects of food from fine dinning to
fast food but his main passion is pastry specializing in chocolate and sugar
art.
“Don’t
be surprised to see a Gemsbok fillet with a chocolate and chilly sauce or
crayfish medallions in puff pastry with a delicate champagne foam and to end
the meal something that will dissolve on your palate, say a chocolate ginger
mint parfait with a scent of African bush basil lavender Amarula gastric,” said
Mutavdzic.
He said Garoeb is a great inspiration and the hotel
has drawn a new menu in the Penguin Restaurant and the Oyster Bar.
