Dear Sir,
Departing from your busy capital, several
positive impressions remain.
First and foremost is the branch of service
known as the City Police.
I found a family, presumably South African
since they were travelling in a vehicle with a ZA sign on the back, not knowing
where to go. Also being a foreigner, I could not be of any assistance. Coming
round the corner, a City Police car pulled up and offered his help. This person
then escorted the lost family until they were out of my sight.
The Windhoek City Police's range of duties
is unknown, but their ability to assist was very prominent.
Their manner of approach and their attitude
towards the visitor is exemplary.
While there must surely be a burden to the
ratepayer, the effect of their presence is a very positive factor when
reviewing my recent visit to Windhoek.
It is a most pleasant experience to find
such a people-orientated service branch on very ready hand.
Satisfied UK visitor from Portsmouth
