Dear Sir
I read your column from the Editor’s Desk last week and
agree with the idea to show Pres Chavez the state hospitals that are in
shambles with the hope that this modern day Robin Hood will offer to renovate
them.
However, visitors to our country are never shown anything
bad about Namibia. Typically such VIPs are taken to the fish factories at the
coast, the diamond sorting floor of Namdeb, the Nakara fur factory and the new
Sate House so that they can return to their own countries believing that we in
Namibia are prosperous and in need of nothing.
They will return believing that we have first class medical
facilities, no AIDS orphans and a well off population with a high level of
employment.
