The Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) has joined the World Bank’s Private Sector Liaison Officers (PSLO) network.
The PSLO network is a team dedicated to strengthening the World Bank Group's relations with the private sector in order to increase awareness and benefits for companies to opportunities its creates.

Tulimeyo Kaapanda-Ausiku, PSLO local representative, said this week that although the World Bank Group may be generally known, the NCCI has realised that the Namibian business community is not tapping into its benefits.Kaapanda-Ausiku said the PSLO is going to be dedicated to educating NCCI members on the products and services offered by the World Bank group, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).The IFC provides loans, equity, structured finance and risk management products, and advisory services to build the private sector in developing countries. The MIGA is involved in multilateral risk mitigation and promoting foreign direct investment into developing countries. The PSLO network consists of liaison officers - private sector communications professionals - appointed, based in and financed by their respective business intermediary organisations. The officers facilitate local companies’ access to the World Bank Group’s business opportunities, services and knowledge, and act as the voice of their national private sector in advising the group on how to better engage companies on development issues.
