Seven-A-Side league launched

Namib Mills this week officially launched the N$126,000 Top Score Seven-A-Side Soccer League. Various corporate and business teams will be competing every Thursday and Friday evenings at 17:30 at the Ramblers Soccer Grounds.
“Soccer fans are encouraged to watch their favourite teams every Thursday and Friday evenings, from 23 November 2011 until 2 December 2011. The finals are scheduled to take place in February 2012,” says Margareth Gustavo, marketing manager at Namib Mills.
In addition to trophies, the following prize money is up for grabs: N$11 000 for the winning team, N$7 000 for the second placed team, N$5500 for the team in third place and N$3500 for the fourth placed team. Trophies will be awarded to the tournament winner, top goal scorer and the most disciplined team, while the team with the most supporters will also receive a trophy.
A total of 46 teams have registered so far, to participate in the league. The chairperson of the Ramblers Football Club, Ralf Behrens, promised action-packed games during the league and lots of entertainment at the finals.
“This year we have taken extra measures to streamlining the matches and ensuring enjoyment for all, but within the rules and regulations of soccer,” says Ralf.
“Namib Mills is pleased to be associated with the 12th consecutive Top Score Seven-A-Side League, because it is the type of event which can be enjoyed by the entire family,” says Margareth.
