Tim Ekandjo, chief human capital and corporate affairs officer of MTC, recently represented his company at the Wanderers Cricket Club where the 2012 Cricket Awards ceremony took place.
He congratulated the national team on their achievements over the past year and for qualifying for the World T20 qualifiers which were held in Dubai.
Ekandjo said the team delivered impressive performances by beating some of the world’s best competing countries.
He further said that the company is well aware that the sponsorship money of N$2.5 million given to Cricket Namibia annually, is not enough to allow the organisation everything that it wants to do, but that MTC will continue to assist Cricket Namibia.
Ekandjo further called for the integration of cricket as a sport for all.
“Those with potential should be developed and given a fair platform to compete for honours in any of the cricket teams,” he concluded.
