Nadja Sternagel, a renowned swimmer, was recently awarded with a certificate by the Cancer Association of Namibia for her drive to raise funds for cancer sufferers. Reinette Koegelenberg, CEO of the association, said the award was given as an honour and acknowledges Sternagel’s efforts to support the association. Sternagel swam 17km on 17 December 2011 from Long Beach to Tiger Reef in Swakopmund to raise awareness about cancer as part of the “Swim to Save Lives campaign.” Through the campaign, she also raised N$67 122, which was donated to the Cancer Association of Namibia.
