Bank Windhoek recently donated of N$20 000 to the Agricultural Training Centre Krumhuk (ATCK), situated at Aris, 30 kilometres south of Windhoek.
The ATCK is Namibia’s first training centre in agricultural production and farm household management. It engages young people from different backgrounds from across Namibia.
“This centre was established during 2008 on Farm Krumhuk in response to the growing demand from the agricultural sector for young, passionate and self motivated Namibians, who are trained and well equipped for living and working on the land. We thank Bank Windhoek for believing in the capacities and aims of this centre and for contributing to the development of the country’s agricultural sector and subsequently to the economy and the well-being of all Namibians,”said Johan Gous, the project leader at ATCK.
Courses offered include horticulture, livestock, game management, soil science, range land management and economics.
“Bank Windhoek is excited to be part of this important project and we trust that we can make a small contribution through this donation towards sustainable land usage and food security and to equip young Namibians with the necessary skills to get a head-start in life,”said Nora Ndopu, communication practitioner of stakeholder engagement at Bank Windhoek.
