Unique art at FNCC

A young and upcoming visual artist, Immanuel Nicodemus, will present a remarkable series of surrealistic water colour and pen drawings at the Franco-Namibia Cultural Centre (FNCC) Café on 6 February.
Immanuel stems from a rural traditional background, but is eager to find his own way as an artist – away from the all-too-common representations of traditional Namibian culture and lifestyle. His drawings, instead, are surrealistic sceneries of human or half-human beings in unknown landscapes. Displaying an almost nightmarish, sombre quality, many of his works speak of a young person’s experience in the ghetto.
Entitled “The Eastern Wind”, this exhibition is an astounding depiction of society’s psychology through the eyes of a very talented young artist.
The exhibition will open at 18h30 on 6 February and will run until 8 March.
