Alexis Golovin, a Russian classical pianist, will host a concert on Friday, 20 January at the National Theater of Namibia at 18:30. The concert will feature the work of Chopin and Liszt, the great masters of romantic music.
Born on 31 October 1945 in Moscow to a family of musicians, Golovin began studying the piano at the age of five at the famous Central Music School of Moscow, obtaining the coveted first prize with distinction at the conservatory of Geneva in 1972.
Golovin has held concerts and recitals throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas, and has played in numerous well-known music festivals. He has also recorded numerous records and CDs.
He has also given master courses including the international Summer Academy in Salzburg and conservatory of Moscow in Shenzhem.
Tickets cost N$70 in advance and N$90 at the gate. Children under the age of 14 will pay N$50.
