Footballers shortlisted for awards

Sunday this weekend is D Day for Namibia’s best soccer players when the finalists in the MTC Premiership Awards will learn who the top player is.
After a surprising bloody and sweaty football season, Heinrich Issacks, Ronald Ketjijere and Brian Bantam were selected as the finalists for the MTC Premiership Player of the Season. The winner will be announced at the MTC Premiership Awards this Sunday, 01 July at the Safari Hotel.
As the official sponsors for the annual event, MTC have sponsored a total prize money of  N$150,000, towards the Namibia Premier League.
Other awards that will be conferred at the awards ceremony include the Top Goal Scorer of the Season, the Players’ Player of the Season, the Coach of the Season, the Referee of the Season, the Assistant Referee of the Season and the Chairman’s Award of the Season.
The Top Goal Scorer of the Season award of N$30,000 will go to Jerome Louis of Black Africa and Richard Kavendji of Hot Spurs who both scored 12 goals during the season. The Chairman’s Award will be decided by the chairman of the Namibia Premier League, JJ Doeseb, and will go to a team or individual that has excelled against the odds and exhibited exemplary conduct in the promotion of Namibian football.
The Northern and Southern Stream First Division winners will also receive awards on the night for their hard work and dedication.
